I
could just spit…..
Story:
What about those well applications anyway?
What about those diversion applications to take surface water for use?
Agriculture, new homes, lawns, hydropower, and the list go on.
What we are told of course, is that we only have so much water and we
must save the fish, save this, save that, etc.
We cannot deplete our water tables, etc.
We will all die, we must conserve; save for future
generations...bla..bla...bla. But
then there are the realists. Everyone
knows, even (Gleick, P.H., 1996: Water resources. In Encyclopedia of Climate and
Weather, ed. By S. H. Schneider, Oxford University Press,
New
York
,
vol. 2, pp.817-823), yea, even they know that of the earth’s water, 97 % is
Saline (oceans) and fresh water is 3% of the worlds total.
They also know, out of the 3% available to us, 68.7% of that is Icecaps
& glaciers (not available to us unless it melts, or we melt it), and out of
the remaining 43% fresh water, 30.1% is ground water (you know, under our feet,
not in rivers or lakes or the atmosphere; but water we have to drill for). The
remaining 0.9% is listed as ‘other’. The
remaining 0.3% is surface water (you know, lakes, swamps, rivers).
Out of that, there is 87% lakes, 11% swamps, and 2% rivers!
Now this may or may not seem possible, but its true; the vast majority of
fresh water available to us, for our uses, is in the ground!
So one might ask, why the hassle sucking water out of the ground?
One reason might be that much of the water located there is moving.
To take it from one diversion point (well), means that same water
didn’t reach someone else's diversion point/well.
Another reason is that everyone knows the one who has water rights, has
the power. Give water to everyone,
and your tomatoes won’t be worth as much.
Give third world countries fresh water and they don’t need your charity
anymore, or your grain. He that controls the water controls the people.
Agricultural conglomerates do not want you to grow food!
A simple truth, you cannot eat and you die without water.
Environmentalists do not want you to build affordable housing to scare
the land. They know you cannot
without water. If third world
countries were to suddenly sink wells and find water, what the hell do they need
us for? Why should they listen to
what we have to say? They do now;
they need our wheat, corn, fruit, etc. Imagine
harnessing the water from the Monsoon seasons and storing it in vast underground
reservoirs. It’s a matter of
life, a matter of survival. You want
to save lives, starving children? Forget
adobe churches; adopt - a - child programs, just give them water!
Those people are now having children to increase the survival odds of
starving parents! Hell, lions
and tigers do the same thing! Give
them the technology to find and store water!!!
But then, everyone knows, they may get smart, build schools, armies, and
vast Hiway systems, cities and harbors, create wealth, etc.; and what have we
then? Just another
self defending, powerful
nation to contend with that can devalue the dollar with their ignorance, hold
out the offer of food like a carrot to starving nations so they do their
bidding; hell, what global power
wants that? After all, if you had
access (which you do) to all the water you needed, they would find a way to stop
you from getting land! Without land
what goods the water, you couldn’t raise trees, you couldn’t build a boat;
with a boat, you could fish and feed the world!
Ha….it‘s all relative, you always got to take it, remember, it’s
yours! All the best.
